Arrival
Ken rang us from the USA a week or so before heading back to home. To surprise us with the news that his Fiancee, Skyla, would be accompanying him.
We were so excited to meet Sky. We got her a little survival kit to surprise her with for when they went travelling, all stuff they can use .. A hat for the hot aussie sun, ( i needed one the other day ).. and spring has only just arrived..
We got her some chocolate to try, aussie stuff of course and some fairy bread .. we did try some baked lamb a couple of times but it was very disappointing .. spring lamb is not the best time to eat lamb .. its better when its a bit older and they haven't had their balls removed .. (some say the meat is tougher if the balls are left on ) we didn't find that to be the case when we raised lambs for the table back on Otautau NZ.. hogget is much prefered.
anyway what we find here is not as good as new zealand , even the beef and such ..
we've had just our normal sort of dinners we enjoy and also have been out a few times when we can all afford it ... its been great meeting sky and getting to know her a bit .. not looking fwd to them leaving in 10 days .... :-(
