We started off last night with some prep work, we actually had some old cabinets on the shelf. It wasn't the best looking, and it was super difficult for Skyla and even me at 6’1 to reach. So we removed the doors and took them down. We didn't end up doing too much since I didn't want to make a lot of noise.

Then today as soon as we woke up, had our coffees, and got to work right away. We started off by pulling out the washer and dryer, knocking off the shelf and demolishing whatever was left of it, then we sanded it all down for paint. The final prep work we did for the floors was rip out all the floorboards. Unfortunately I scuffed some of the old ones so we decided against reusing them, but luckily the previous owners left some of the floorboards they used for their own renovations.

With everything demolished and out of the way, we made quick work and started on organizing our new pre-lined vinyl planks, then started lining up our first set against the garage (left) wall.
After the first plank fell into place the rest followed pretty soon after. We stopped to have maccas about 90% of the way through, then finished the last row. I had to cut about 3 or 4 times before it worked since it was a pretty tricky cut.
All said and done, really happy with how it turned out in the end.

After the vinyl planks were done, it was just a matter of measuring, cornering, and cutting the floorboards, and finally nailing them into the drywall with my new fancy nail gun.
For our first day of work, and for all of this being firsts. I'd say I'm proud of our work!
Stay tuned for more updates, we have painting, cabinets, shelves, and more to come.
