We left Augusta early in the morning. My core muscles are getting a little workout today with the rolling of the waves.
We have no internet today, so i have to find something else to occupy me so i got my grabby thing out to get my sewing under the table. did a couple of kings and queens for my kings cribbage quilt. its going to be a playable one ... more about that later ..
We found a spot to stop in Windy harbour, its windy but not too bad on the waves side. As we pulled to a stop and put the anchor out. i got up to the loo and thought it was quite nice and thinking of a shower. then the wind whipped up and thought better of it.. Just as well for not long after just as we'd put out lines in the water, a couple of young blokes came along to say hi, and see what we were up to. They were abolone divers and so gave us a couple. i've never tried it but can only compare it to garlic snails that i'd tried years ago ... hubby cooked it up in garlic butter , its like chewing garlic rubber .. not a fan .
We sat chatting and i got a bite or two .. then my line took off ... always exciting when it does that but it was only a bloody stingray ... gggrrrr
between us we got 5 stingrays and two port jackson sharks, as well as an unknown fish to us so we tossed him back .. so all in all the first day wasn't too bad..
